Jennipher McDonald B.A (Hons) and PhD Candidate Curtin University
Perth Clinical Hypnotherapist (PHA).
Internationally trained NLP Coach (IANLP) and expert in her field.
I am a Clinical Professional Member of the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia
My PhD research at Curtin University is about Reclaiming Agency through embodied performance after intergenerational Family and Domestic Violence(FDV). To clarify this research further, I am exploring this question through Theatre for Living theatre: How can we reclaim agency after FDV and transform our lived experience of FDV into art? Theatre Games are playful, safe and community building.
I love sharing what I have learned to help people to help themselves.
As a result, I have received numerous Cultural grants from the City of Cockburn. These grants (2015), (2018) and (2019) were awarded to me for my Community work with Theatre for Living (TFL) and women who have experienced Family and Domestic Violence.
For over 30 years I have studied personal growth. During this time, I practised self-awareness including Meditation, Breath-work, Dance, Yoga and Qi Gong.
Over this time, I’ve found natural therapies to be brilliant self-care. As a result, I became highly certified, in Clinical Hypnotherapy and NLP Life Coaching. During this time, I also trained in Breath Work, Reiki, Family Constellations, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Most recently, I discovered the healing power of Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) and Theatre for Living (TFL). I love how these tools bring community together.
In addition to these studies, I am a playwright and author of “Reclaiming Trust” and I have a CERT IV Training & Assessment.
Travel & Study:
I travelled overseas for five consecutive years to study in New Zealand because I researched the best NLP training to be there. As a result of my travels, I am an International Neuro-Linguistic Programming Coach and Hypnotherapist.
In January 2017, I travelled to Bangalore India to further my studies. I visited the Centre for Dialogue and Change. As a result, I got to study with David Diamond (Canada) founder of Theatre for Living (TFL). Furthermore, in 2019. I trained in Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) at the Shakespeare Ensemble in Brisbane, Queensland.
Above all, TFL is a social justice theatre used around the world.
TFL is a fun and playful way to assist communities with any social justice issue. Most importantly, facilitating TO and TFL in my community with my theatre group brings me great joy.
I run monthly theatre groups in North Fremantle Community Hall 2nd Sunday of the month.
I run my practice in Fremantle Western Australia at In Touch Wellness Centre.
18 Holdsworth Street, Fremantle WA 6160.
In addition, I run private and group training in Breath-work, and NLP Communication Coaching courses.
Certainly, my initial training as a Breath Worker in 1989 gave me a solid foundation, because of the body/mind/spirit connection. Each individual has the power and the resources within themselves to transform their own lives.
In conclusion, I love helping women to empower themselves.
Also, most importantly, I am a mother to three grown children and a grandmother.
I specialise in issues with Trauma, Anxiety, Sexual abuse, Addictions, Confidence and Self-esteem
